Episode 72: Get Busy Living

Knowing that at any moment our time here could be cut short and actually experiencing that firsthand has brought us a new perspective of living with intention.

Recently our family and community has endured several losses of loved ones of all ages, and some days the grief feels overwhelming. I’m reminded of how important it is to continue moving forward and remember the best lessons and fun memories we shared with them. When I see my daughter and her classmates wearing their “get busy living” shirts in honor of their middle school director, Dave Ludwig, it makes the loss feel purposeful.

Not only has he inspired us endlessly with his commitment to live his final moments to the fullest as he battled ALS, we are also inspired by the Gray family, who tirelessly work to bring awareness and funding for research of Batten’s Disease for their two daughters, Charlotte and Gwenyth. Heaven gained a couple more angels as Charlotte and Dave arrived and now we look forward to the day we get to see them again. In the meantime, let’s get busy living.

Highlights:

(4:25) Living with purpose

(10:00) The side hustle

(16:16) My love of teaching

(20:53) Heartbreak recovery

(23:51) Embrace every moment
